- I think you will get answers that say yes and no. I have arthritis and I have cracked my knuckles since I was a boy in 1968. I really don't think that they are directly related because although my hands and back get especially sore when the weather changes, the fact is that I have cracked my finger knucles a lot more than a chiropractor has adjusted three areas of my back.
And Best Wishes in 2007. Thank You.
- To put it simply the answer is no, cracking your knuckles will not give you arthritis. A broken joint (like a wrist or knee) may develop into arthritis or you may have a genetic predisposition to it.
- children can get arthritus, usually the rhumatoid kind, yes cracking can add to the problem of osteoarthritus because you are messing with the joint position.

arthritis comes at all ages. I had an x-ray at age 26 that showed arthritis in my hip.
