Arthritis?

im wondering that id you crack your knuckles, do you get a more chance of getting arthritis? how old are people when they get arthritis? ty and happy 2oo7

  1. I think you will get answers that say yes and no. I have arthritis and I have cracked my knuckles since I was a boy in 1968. I really don't think that they are directly related because although my hands and back get especially sore when the weather changes, the fact is that I have cracked my finger knucles a lot more than a chiropractor has adjusted three areas of my back.

  2. To put it simply the answer is no, cracking your knuckles will not give you arthritis. A broken joint (like a wrist or knee) may develop into arthritis or you may have a genetic predisposition to it.
  3. children can get arthritus, usually the rhumatoid kind, yes cracking can add to the problem of osteoarthritus because you are messing with the joint position.

    arthritis comes at all ages. I had an x-ray at age 26 that showed arthritis in my hip.
